Fowey is another adorable town we have always liked. This was just a one night stop. This time our overnight was tied to a mooring ball. Like anchoring but easier and closer together. We took the dinghy into town, to stretch our legs. Lots of little shops and historic buildings
Many of the roads are so narrow that you have to find a doorway to hide in if one car wants to pass. The roads are mostly one way lol
We hopped in the dinghy to go exploring up the river. Alan’s parents and sister left their boat here for a winter on legs at the river’s edge in 1980. He was curious to see if he could determine the exact spot. He thinks this was it. A place where boats go to die these days.
This port exports aggregates like sand, clay and stone.
If you look carefully you can see this is a boatyard.
As evening approached we had visitors. Six people from Customs and Immigration in a big black RIB. Very friendly as they checked all of our documents. Apparently, because we flew in (and went through customs at the airport) we were all good. They recorded our boat info and answered our questions about leaving the county.
In the morning we had a new neighbour. I am glad we went in to town the day before. We were headed out.
