A late start turned into a lazy morning. It was wonderful to sit in the sun, not be rocking and rolling. It finally feels as though summer has arrived. We caught up with a few chores and did some book keeping before pulling up the anchor about 1430. The plan was to go a whole 9 miles to the anchorage we didn’t make it to yesterday. With no schedule, we drifted along under sail in light wind, watching holiday makers and cruise ships go by.
The coastline is becoming more populated as we head towards the county’s capital of Oslo.
I went below and made minestrone as we went. Our anchorage is an enclosed basin with gorgeous surroundings. It currently holds 50 or 60 of our closest friends. lol. It does’t feel particularly crowded. As the sun sets, more boats are straggling in while many of the smaller motorboats are pulling up anchor and calling it a day.
You see all sorts of mooring techniques. Tying to the rocks, either on the side or bow on is very popular. We haven’t been brave enough yet. There are bolts with mooring rings drilled into the rocks.
As far as we can tell there are only two foreign boats. Us and a large trawler from Switzerland. Time to say goodnight to all our neighbours.
