We took a trip back into town where we picked up a few groceries and a Norwegian/ English dictionary. Some words sound like the English words and some need no explanation. Insert 5NOK
We dropped our lines and motored out into another cool grey day. This next 14 miles was one of the few spots along this part of the coast not protected from the North Sea by barrier islands, so it has the potential to be nasty, but not today. We passed some old ships (or reproductions) and noticed this crowsnest.
This coast has hundreds of lighthouses for obvious reasons.
The only interesting event was spotting a ship on our AIS anchored in one of the little coves. As we passed it we realized it was a Politi ship. It made me think it was a speed trap hidden by the side of the “road”. It certainly wouldn’t stop us for speeding.
As we approached our destination, we passed another of the many fish farms in the area.
This little cove is completely protected but deep. We are anchored in 20m. There are holiday homes at one end and what looks like a man made beach at the other. Just as we dropped anchor, the sun came out!!!! It was lovely sitting in the cockpit in this peaceful setting.
If you didn’t know you would have a hard time identifying this as the way out.
