Kingston and beyond

Sunday morning dawned bright and sunny with a westerly breeze. It was time to head east. We had a wonderful day coasting along in light breezes and playing with the asymmetrical spinnaker. By 4 pm we were tied up in Confederation Basin.

This marina is right downtown in Kingston. Great for exploring the city. We spent the evening walking around all of the restaurant terraces and stopped for ice cream. We shared one that had two scoops – chocolate and coconut. Good, but I was disappointed that there was only coconut flavour not real pieces.

Monday morning we headed out to learn a little history. Our first stop was the Kingston City Hall right across from the marina. The two of us were given a personal tour of the building with many fascinating inside stories.

We then headed out just to explore, trendy shops, bookstores, historical buildings and just enjoying the perfect fall weather.

This morning it was again time to untie the docklines and head where the wind would take us. We headed east again with a fabulous broad reach. We saw several other boat out enjoying the day.

Alan was disappointed when we arrived at our destination about 4pm. We are anchored near Gananoque. A little excitement when we dragged over the grassy bottom but all is well now. Perhaps tomorrow we will visit the town of Gananoque.
