Yesterday was about 90' without a breath of wind. We finally resorted to doing errands in our car with AC. We are just not used to this kind of heat and need to get into the habit of drinking lots more. The evening was still warm and muggy in the boat as we tried to sleep. This morning I woke up shivering - the temperature had dropped 40'F! Today is an absolutely gorgeous 68'F with sunshine and a nice breeze. Perfect for getting some work done.
I have removed the name and port of call off the stern in preparation for our new name. We still need to do a lot of work removing the Poliglow and touching up many dings and scratches but the topsides will look great.
I also spent time cleaning and sanding the prop after it had become caked in barnacles last year. I guess we need to pay more attention - particularly when we are in one place for a long time. 
Alan has rigged up a dustless sander (required here) with a $19 shop vacuum and is tackling the antifouling so we can recoat. For the non-sailors out there - imagine paint at $189 a gallon - and we need three. Hopefully we will not have to do it next year.
There are lots of folks in the yard working on boats, including many Canadians. Everyone is very friendly. Unfortunately Alan takes after his Dad and loves to chat (not work).
After several days of fast food and chain restaurants we are beginning to make our own meals. Sandwiches and stuff are easy when the boat is not yet fully functional. We haven't tested the propane connections and there is nowhere to drain water from washing up. Christina's famous chocolate chip cookies are sustaining us in between. The good news is that the fridge works - at least when we are not using the one power cord for tools.
Tomorrow we will head up to Ft Pierce to have the outboard re-repaired and pick up some solvent for the poliglow.
