Boy, people are impatient! You would think we lived in a digital world of instant gratification :~)
Here is a small sample of what we packed in the car and trailer. We left Montreal about 3pm Monday and essentially drove straight through. The good news was that we did all of the big cities in the middle of the night so there was no traffic to speak of. The bad news was that the weather turned awful the minute we crossed the Mason-Dixon line. We had rain, snow and sleet until we reached Jacksonville. I can feel for the crew of the Vega Whisper who are still sailing in North Carolina, heading south. We arrived at my Dad's in Leesburg about 10 pm Tuesday and promtly fell asleep.
Today was a lazy day getting organized. We opened all the shipments which arrived here via the magic of the internet... charts, books, canned meat and dried veggies and an inflatable dinghy. We did our last minute shopping for Thanksgiving dinner for tomorrow. The weather here is sunny with a high of 60'. The next few days will involve shopping for supplies and other nautical stuff like an outboard....at least after Black Friday. By the weekend we will see how Voila! survived the 9 months without us.
